Vishaka Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo emerged champs at the all-island Badminton tournament held recently. Oshadi Kuruppu who also has overseas exposure leads her side. She has
reperesneted Sri lanka at several tournaments abroad. Oshadi showcased her talents at last year’s Asian Juniors too.
“I am glad that we were able to bag the all-island trophy this year. Credit should go to all our team members who played with dedication and commitment. Among them are key players like Achini Rathnasiri, Ameesha Dias, Kavisha Narangoda, Nilupuli Liyanage, Kavindya Perera and Thisuri Fernando. In the finals we had to face another talented team from Sirimavo Balika. Though we expected some resistance from Ambalangoda Dharmasoka, we were able to trounce them in the semi finals,” said Oshadi.(www.dailymirror.lk)
